The 'Encyclopedia of Life' will contain information about all 1.8 million known species on Earth.

 

Scientists compile massive biology web site

In a project with huge implications for education, scientists are creating a massive web site, called the Encyclopedia of Life, that aims to contain information about all of Earth's 1.8 million known species. The information would be available online to everyone free of charge, and users of the site can adjust its pages so they see information relevant for students or for research scientists.  Full Story
