This web site is a fun enhancement to science exploration and understanding with Open University's Online Digital Microscope. Select from Plant, Animal, and Microbe tissue type images. All images can be seen at multiple magnification levels and have notes that explain exactly what you are seeing.

What a fantastic resource! I love how the slides have highlighted areas for zooming in and out, and have some key questions listed in the description (can you see the outer wall cells...) for those who read them. They are smooth and quick responding to student zoom requests, because of the way they are set up, but that makes it so much easier for those of us who have to use a satellite connection for our internet access.

I'm forwarding this site on to the science teacher at my middle school and intermediate levels. Since I found your blog from your "classroom 2.0 ning" page, I have appreciated every link I followed. Thanks! Sue R.
