Free Online Webinare: The Envision Schools Approach to PBL

posted Wednesday, 10 October 2007
YOU ARE INVITED TO AN ONLINE EVENT
WestEd's SchoolsMovingUp website will feature another free Online Event, "The Envision Schools Approach to Project-Based Learning" on Wednesday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Pacific Time (1:30 p.m. – 3:00p.m. Eastern Time.)

Envision Schools uses an innovative education model with a project-based curriculum, in which art and technology are integral, to engage students in meaningful learning. In this presentation, Envision staff members Kyle Hartung and Bob Lenz will discuss how the “Six A's of Project Design” (Academic Rigor, Authentic Audience, Applied Learning, Active Exploration, Adult Relationships, and Authentic Assessment) are used to guide instructional practice, and how project-based instruction scaffolds learning to support mastery of 21st Century leadership skills and clearly defined performance outcomes. The discussion will also include a description of the systems and structures that are essential for Envision Schools to succeed using a project-based pedagogy.

See the Online Events page on SchoolsMovingUp for further information, including specific topics to be addressed by this event, at http://www.schoolsmovingup.net/onlineevents.
