C-Span Classroom Pro Dev @ Tapped In

posted Monday, 27 August 2007

While the 2008 Presidential election is still nearly 15 months away, the campaign is already in full swing, and teachers are looking for relevant, unbiased resources to help students learn about the election process and government in general.  No resource is better at providing this information than C-SPAN Classroom (http://www.c-spanclassroom.org/) .  Learn more about C-SPAN Classroom in our first TAPPED IN Social Studies forum of the new year, set for 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) September 5. TAPPED IN is located at http://www.tappedin.org

Joining us for this interesting session will be Meredith Rapp, C-SPAN Classroom Educational Specialist.  Meredith will demonstrate features on the site, including online video clips of the candidates in action, as well as other government related clips.  In addition, she'll share information about the upcoming Presidential Libraries series, as well as the StudentCam contest.  C-SPAN Classroom also provides many other free resources for teachers.  This will be a great session about a great resource.

Teachers interested in attending this session are invited to become TAPPED IN members (it's easy to do, and free), or they can log in as a guest for the session.  It's recommended that new users log in at least 10 minutes prior to the session for any assistance, if needed.  TAPPED IN "help desk" personnel will be on-hand to assist new users.

Tapped In professional development workshops, special interest groups, and web interface are all FREE to teachers, student teachers, and teacher educators.
