Acoustic guitars focus fidgety children, aid learning

When her first-grade class loses concentration, teacher Jeni Rees strums a basic tune on her acoustic guitar, thanks to a program called Guitars in the Classroom . Rees and two dozen area teachers took guitar classes this spring and learned how to use simple songs to help students -- especially those with special needs or limited English skills -- spell, do basic math, develop vocabulary and remember facts.
